Pastors’ Newsletter 2024

Beloved sisters, brothers, and friends,
Firstly, we trust that you had a joyous and peaceful Christmas time.
For some of you, this Advent season, we know, has been a di
fficult time for you.

As we come to the end of 2024, we reflect on the life of this small Church fellowship.
We see the many ways God has been working in people’s hearts as we seek to live out the vision and mission of the Church.

We are grateful to the Lord our Shepherd for His faithfulness and goodness to us His sheep.

You may remember in February of this year we had to move location once again.

Our Good Shepherd provided the current site where we meet as a church family.

As we do that, we continue to share the building with a Spanish-speaking church fellowship.

It is a great gospel partnership as we continue to share the light and life of Jesus,
with all in Playa Blanca and surrounding areas.

Earlier this year, two sisters in Christ were baptised in water as they committed to serving Jesus.

This is what it’s all about : coming into relationship with Jesus, abiding in Him and
desiring to lovingly obey and serve Him as He changes us from one degree of glory to another.

Even in the hard seasons individuals experienced, there have been testimonies of ‘God encounters.’

As you know, this year has been exceptionally challenging for many of us.
Health issues, coping with the uncertainties in personal relationships and loss of loved ones are a few to mention.

In all of these, we thank God for Jesus and the blessed hope we have as believers.

As a church family, God’s grace has been sufficient for us all during this year.

A lesson we all have learnt along the way is not to depend on ourselves, but to embrace our God Who is all-sufficient.

He is Sovereign and He determines the purpose for each moment of our lives.

King Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3 says,
“There is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven...”

Just like in the physical so too in the spiritual : 'Seasons come and seasons go.'

Know the season you’re in and embrace the change that it is bringing.

As a small church family, we are entering a new season.
A new season that the Lord our Shepherd is leading us into graciously.

In Isaiah 43:19  the Lord says, “See, I am doing a new thing...do you not see it.”

God is preparing us for something new.
We are not to allow things of the past, - ‘the winter of our lives’- to keep us from receiving the ‘new’ that the Lord is promising.

We are encouraging you friends to embrace the new thing God is doing in your life.

As a fellowship, let us listen closely to what His Spirit is saying.
Let us ‘tune in’ by continuing to pray, spending time with the Lover of your soul,

Jesus and stay spiritually healthy in His Word.
Embrace the new thing God is about to do in this small Church with the big heart for more of Him.

Embrace the life the Spirit gives, so that we all come alive in Christ in 2025.
Let us all look forward with great expectation to 2025 with hearts focused on Jesus.

Our prayer for you is :
“Beloved, I pray that in every way you may succeed and prosper and
be in good health (physically) just as I know your soul prospers spiritually,” (3 John verse 2 -AMP).

The Lord bless you and keep you, as go into the New Year 2025.

David and Rachel,
Pastors, Christian Worship Centre

PRESS RELEASE

As Pastor David shared on Thursday 1st February after our Bible Study & Prayer Meeting,

the Church is relocating. Our current place of worship now has a new owner.

Therefore, at some stage during the month of February, we will be 'transitioning' or moving

in a phased way to the new location.

The new location is just round the corner from where we are currently worshipping.

Some of you may remember it as previously being the Cafe-Bar a few years ago.

God has shown us favour. In His Providence, He is caring for us His sheep &

we continue to experience what a Good Shepherd He is!

It will be a 'phased' transfer where we could be worshipping one week where we currently are &

by the next week we may be worshipping in the new venue.

Please pray for this move to be smooth, incident-free, & that we keep our eyes on Jesus

as we take the next step forward in faith & continue to share in His Mission

along with our Spanish brothers & sisters too.

When we know more details, we will share them with you.

God bless you all,

Pastors David & Rachel Kuru

If you wish to support us at CWC, Playa Blanca, click on the ‘Support us’ button above.

Directions of how to get to our new venue at Virginia Park (behind the Virginia Oasis Reception building) can be found on the 'FIND US' link .

We look forward to worshipping Jesus & meeting for fellowship with you then.

One Love in Jesus,

Pastors David & Rachel Kuru

On Saturdays at 11 a.m. at La Rustica Cafe in town there is an opportunity for both men & women

to meet at our combined coffee morning (opposite the Catholic Church).

From Monday 8th January to Sunday 21st January we will be devoting time

to Prayer, Fasting, & Seeking God.

Our focus is to come into alignment with God's purposes for revelation,

rather than seeking to make resolutions.

It is a time to seek a fresh release of the Holy Spirit's life & power,

as we encounter God in a fresh way.

Please think about what this time would look like for you,

whether you are able to fast from food, social media and/or TV.

And intentionally setting aside this time, making space for God & seeing Him

reset our hearts towards Him.

Pastors Newsletter

Dear Friends,

We trust that you had a lovely Christmas time and that it was :

“A Merry Christmas and not a messy Christmas!”

As we are all just about to enter a New Year, Rachel and I would like

to share some thoughts of  encouragement with you.

Firstly as we all reflect on 2023, we are so grateful to our faithful God.

For many individuals, it has been a year of many trials, tests, and even challenges in relationships.

Dependence on God and His promises, and perseverance have been key

to navigating through these unexpected scenarios.

In His unchanging character, God has demonstrated that even in our places

of hurt and hardship, He has not abandoned us.

The second thought is : how God has been using these trials and our unwavering trust in Him. What is God saying to you in these times?

As a fellowship of believers, let us remind ourselves that God uses trials as a means

of drawing us closer to His heart.

The Father’s heart for you is to transform you into the image of His Son.

Spending time with the Lord - “unrushed lingering moments”- can help us listen in

to what our Father is saying.

It can only refresh and restore our spiritually parched souls and show us His perspective, according to His Word that is alive and powerful.

Thirdly, we believe that God is continuing to bring this fellowship into times

of refreshing, restoration and revival.

He is the God of newness, providence, and miracles.

As we seek the Blesser, His favour and blessings will follow His people

undoubtedly who are called by His name.

He wants to do so much more in 2024 ….. as we look to Him in 2024

In 2024, we are believing that God will do so much more than we can ever imagine or think.

So let us seek to be ‘renewed in our minds.’

A change in the way we think will change the way we act and react towards God,

others and circumstances and life.

May we be conformable to His ways, rather that preferring our own comfortable ways.

Romans 12:1-2

‘Beloved friends, what should be our proper response to God's marvellous mercies?

To surrender yourselves to God to be His sacred, living sacrifices.

And live in holiness, experiencing all that delights His heart.

For this becomes your genuine expression of worship

Stop imitating the ideals of the culture around you,

but be inwardly transformed by the Holy Spirit through a total reformation of how you think.

This will empower you to discern God's will as you live a beautiful life,

satisfying and perfect in His eyes.”(TPT)

Our prayer for you in 2024 is that you will allow God to do a fresh work in your heart,

changing you increasingly into the image of Jesus.

And that you will move from beyond trusting in what God can do (God's capabilities)

to resting in His character (Who God is) and experience more of Him in 2024.
